It started in 1979 as a simple design experiment in Jim Boyd’s garage. The challenge? To help an air conditioner company develop an improved, point of purchase display that was safe, sturdy and attractive. The outcome impressed a client and became the ‘big idea’ for an entire business.

Jim Boyd continued to design and produce displays in that garage for the next few years, and because of a reputation for high quality craftsmanship, the company’s growth required a move to a new 7,200 square feet warehouse that better served the needs of White Oak’s growing client roster.

Two decades later, Jim’s son, Scott, was at the helm of the White Oak team and grew the company to fill a 43,000 square feet assembly and warehouse facility in northern Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Today, the White Oak Display and Design operates out of a state-of-the-art creative, manufacturing and distribution center. While it’s a few miles down the road from Jim’s garage floor, the White Oak Mission never outgrew its values or that driving idea – to serve with the kind of superior craftsmanship and excellence that wins customers for life!
